Besalú

Last weekend we branched out from Barcelona for the first time and planned a last minute day trip to Besalú, a small medieval town about an hour and a half north of Barcelona. After the bus dropped us off we had about 6 hours on our hands to explore – which if you’re thinking about going, 6 hours is more than enough time.

While there isn´t necessarily that much to do in Besalú, it still makes for a fun day trip. It had all the medieval staples… cannons, knight stuff, castle-like architecture, drawbridges, etc. All in all, we thought it was a super cute town with lots of character and an easy place to relax and escape thieves and tourists. Below are some highlights…

Chairs on the walls, tall chairs in the street. We never figured out why, but they have a thing for chairs.

It´s hard to tell in the picture above, but the dog on the wall is staring Joe down. Also note, there is a dog on the wall.
